It’s a rare occasion for most of us to actually, purposefully, deliberately dream. We experience dreams in our sleep, but we wake up from them and move on with life. We sometimes see people we admire that cause us to dream for a moment, “if only I could be like Mike”.  Travel often causes us to dream about living in a new place or culture. Movies allow us to temporarily step into another world and we may dream of being a part of it.

These dreams are almost always followed up with an abrupt and rapid reentry to our current life. Bang. Dream over.

Give this a try – dream about the life you want and let the dream stay for a while. Get as detailed and specific as possible. Where are you? Who are you with? What are you doing each day? What are you achieving? Give it all the color and detail possible, but make sure it is your dream. Just sit in the dream. Marinate in it. Let your dream breath. Give it a place in your life for an extended period of time, days, even weeks.

Once you have found comfort in your dream, meaning you are clear and confident this is truly what you want, begin your plan to get there.  If this truly is your dream, what are you waiting for?  If you have a JOB , evaluate how it fits into your dream. And does the work you do lead you towards your life dream?  What little things can you change each day to move you toward living your dream?  The stronger the dream, the easier the changes come.

You will be surprised how quickly little changes will move you toward your dream life.  Today is a good time to start dreaming.
